Intramural Athletic Leagues (In honor of Bill Green, Sr. and Diane Green) The Club offers daily athletic leagues in quarterly increments for boys and girls in 2nd-12th grade. For each league participating members are placed on a team and a schedule is developed attempting to provide the players with 2-3 games per week. The players manage themselves without coaches and play each team on the league in hopes of winning the Championships. Trophies are awarded to each championship player. Daily Co-Ed Dodgeball (In Memory of Alex Gurney and Jeff Mazurkiewicz) Every day after school from 3:45-4:15 pm. Join Neil for all formats of dodgeball to make it fun, safe and rewarding, including running dodge, pin dodge, scatter dodge, direction dodge and doctor dodge. Points are awarded for individual participation, wins, pins hit, etc. The top point-getters are crowned the King and Queen of Dodgeball with their name going up on the coveted "Dodgeball Wall of Fame" for life. No sign up required....just come and join the daily fun.
Swoosh Club A Sports Leadership Club for grades 2-8 that encourages youth members to volunteer their time to support sports programming by refereeing games, keeping individual and team statistics and managing the score clock. Triple Play - nurturing MIND (Healthy Habits, BODY (Athletics) and SOUL (Social Rec)! Through the Triple Play experience, the Club offers daily challenges and programs for members to become healthy and active by learning new ways to eat nutritionally, manage stress, maintain physical fitness and form positive relationships with peers. The comprehensive BGCA Triple Play initiative is sponsored Nationally by The Coca-Cola Company and the WellPoint Foundation. The program is designed to nurture the minds, bodies and souls of Club members. Triple Play Daily Challenges - the BODY! Healthy Habits - the MIND! Healthy Habits is designed to teach young people about the benefits of developing healthy habits such as eating smart and being physically active; equip young people with skills to adopt healthier habits by participating in fun and engaging learning activities both at the Club and at home; and encouragement to take small steps toward positive behavior changes. National Fitness Competition The National Fitness Competition is a national BGCA program sponsored by Nestlé. Twice per school year – in the fall and in the spring – The EA Club will host local Fitness Competitions designed to engage and inspire members of all ages, genders, interests and abilities. These one-day events incorporate a variety of fun, "field day"-style activities. Club members have opportunities to "compete against themselves" by tracking their accomplishments and striving for improvement – helping them build intrinsic motivation, confidence and physical competence.
